Saints for Finding a Spouse
Orthodox women looking for a good husband pray to St Xenia of Petersburg, who lost her own husband young, to St Matrona, and to Sts Peter and Fevronia. Greek women ask St Phanourios to “reveal” a good husband. St Nicholas, who gave dowries to three girls so they could marry, is asked for a good match for a daughter. In the Russian village girls prayed to St Paraskeva and, on the feast of the Protection, to the Mother of God: “cover the earth with snow, and me with a bridegroom.” Young men pray too, and the Archangel Raphael, who brought Tobias to Sarah, is asked by both.

How Orthodox Christians pray for this
Pray daily for the spouse God is preparing for you, even before you know a name. Women read the akathist to St Xenia or ask for a moleben to Sts Peter and Fevronia, and on the Protection light a candle before the Mother of God. Ask your priest’s counsel, and let your family pray for you too.
Have it consecrated by our priest before it reaches you — Consecration, $49.
