About the Protector Set

The saints who keep watch over those who serve.

St Michael, Archangel and leader of the heavenly host, is the protector Orthodox and Catholic soldiers and police officers have carried for centuries. St John the Warrior was a Roman soldier who used his post to shield the people he was sent to arrest. Russians still pray to him against those who do us wrong and for the return of what was stolen. This set puts both in the hands of the one you’re praying for.

Why these saints

  • St Michael the Archangel. Orthodox Christians pray to the Archangel for protection from enemies visible and invisible, for courage, and for a peaceful Christian death. His feast is the Synaxis of the Archangels on 8 November (21 November on the Old Calendar).
  • St John the Warrior (30 July / 12 August). In Russian piety he protects from offenders, exposes thieves and returns stolen property, and stands by those in military service and in sorrow.
  • The Guardian Angel, given at baptism, who goes where they go.
For whom

a son or daughter deploying, a police officer, a firefighter or a paramedic on nights. A godson starting basic training. Anyone who keeps watch so others can sleep.
