A saint for every need

Saints for Work and Finding a Job

Russians looking for work pray to the Martyr Tryphon, asked above all for good and honest work. They pray to St Spyridon of Trimythous, the shepherd-bishop who helped the poor, and to St Matrona and St Xenia, to whom people still bring every household need. St John of Kronstadt is asked for work after a job is lost. And everyone asks St Nicholas, who never refused anyone. Between jobs, the Church gives a rule for the day: pray in the morning, send the applications, give thanks at night, and keep asking.
