What is done
For forty days the name is read at every Liturgy our priest serves and at the panikhidas nearest the third, ninth and fortieth day, as the Church has kept the first forty days since the beginning. Photographs, the video of the fortieth-day service, and the certificate.
The Church keeps the first forty days after a death with particular prayer: the panikhida on the third, the ninth and the fortieth day, and the name at every Liturgy.
For forty days the name is read at every Divine Liturgy our priest serves, and at the panikhidas nearest the third, ninth and fortieth day after the date of repose you give us.
What you receive
- The certificate, by email, naming the service and the servants of God prayed for
- A photograph of the list as our priest read it

Names received by Thursday evening (Eastern) join the coming week's services.
From one service to every week
The third day, the ninth, the fortieth; then every year, as long as you wish.
Our promise
- Every service is performed as described, by our priest, a priest of the Orthodox Church, and logged with your order.
- If our priest cannot serve in a week, your names are read when he next serves and your term or plan is extended by a week; or we refund you in full on request.
- A full refund until the names join a week's list; final once the service is performed.
- No prayer is sold. The fee covers the priest's time, a share to his parish, the lists, the proof and our work; the prayer is the Church's.
Questions
Can I ask for someone who was not Orthodox, or who took their own life?
The Church's rule keeps the names of the unbaptized, and of those who took their own lives, for the bishop's judgment. What we can offer is the moleben for those who grieve, for the family, and the reading of the Psalter.
Every name you give is prayed for in the way the Church allows, and we tell you how.
Is this real?
Yes. Our priest, a priest of the Orthodox Church, reads your names at the Divine Liturgy, serves the molebens and panikhidas, and reads the Psalter himself. Each service is logged, and you receive the certificate and, for molebens, panikhidas and the longer terms, a photograph of the list exactly as he read it. With the video you see it.
What are the proskomedia, a moleben and a panikhida?
The proskomedia is the preparation of the bread and wine before the Divine Liturgy: the priest takes a particle from the bread for each name, praying "Remember, O Lord."
A moleben is a short service of supplication to Christ, the Mother of God or a saint for a stated need, with the names of those it is asked for.
A panikhida is the Church's memorial service for the departed, with their names and the singing of "Memory eternal."
Who can be prayed for?
At the Divine Liturgy and the panikhida the Church commemorates baptized Orthodox Christians; other Christians are prayed for at the moleben and in the reading of the Psalter, as the Church's practice allows. The form asks, and our priest follows the Church's rule: if a name cannot be read at the Liturgy, we tell you and pray for the person at the moleben or in the Psalter instead, for the same term and price.
Which names?
Baptismal first names, up to twelve on one list; no surnames are needed. We show you how the Church writes each name (John is written Ioann) and our priest checks every list.
When are the names read?
Names received by Thursday evening (Eastern) join the coming week's services. The forty days and the longer terms begin that week. Your certificate and photographs arrive by email as each service is served.
Do you tell me the date and the place?
The certificate names the service, the names and the week of your order. We do not publish our priest's schedule or where he serves.
Can I change the names?
Yes, until the names join a week's list, from the link in your email. On a plan, any time from your plan page.
Can I give a service as a gift?
Yes. We send the certificate to them, or to you to give, and we can mail a printed certificate with your message and no prices.
What if a week is missed?
If our priest cannot serve in a week, your names are read when he next serves and your term or plan is extended by a week; or we refund you in full on request.
Can I cancel?
A full refund until the names join a week's list; final once the service is performed.
Why is there a fee?
No prayer is sold. The fee covers the priest's time, a share to his parish, the lists, the proof and our work; the prayer is the Church's.
Memory eternal.
